Why Choose Scalar

For You:  Scalar Wheels is proud to offer wheels for achieving podiums, exploring new roads, and having fun with your friends.

Hand-Built:  A wheel can be forced into being laterally and radially true with high tension. This does not mean, however, that it will be a good wheel. By using a specific build process, we are able to bring each wheel up to final tension without fighting it to stay true. This creates a long-lasting wheel.

Quality Control: Quality control systems are in place throughout the manufacturing process to ensure that each hand-built wheel passes strict requirements and is ready for you.

Premium Components: Only premium components are chosen to assemble our wheels with. We don’t cheap-out and we don’t cut corners. All of the individual components that go into our wheels are chosen for their performance, reliability, and serviceability.

Non-Proprietary Components: All of the components that go into our wheels are non-proprietary. This means that if you need to replace a bearing in your hub after a few years, or if you are traveling far away with your bike and need something, you’ll be able to go to a local bike shop and find replacement parts to get you rolling again.

Customer Service: We pride ourselves with the customer service we provide and are more than happy to help riders select the best wheelset for their riding style. We’re also here to promptly sort out any unforeseen issues that arise.

Engineered and Tested Carbon Layups - Our rims have been specifically engineered and tested beyond industry standards.  In addition to this, our rims come out of the molds with very little post processing required, which means that you will be able to see the UD fiber on the outside of the rims.  We're proud of our rim finish and we don't cover up the carbon with opaque paint to hide blemishes like some other wheel companies do.

Bladed Stainless Steel Spokes - Many wheelsets are built with round spokes because they work, are relatively easy to manufacture, and are cost effective.  Round spokes, however, produce a lot of aerodynamic drag as the wheel rotates through the air.  The larger the diameter (take aluminum spokes for example), the more drag there will be.  Sapim bladed spokes are chosen for all of our wheelsets due to their significant aerodynamic advantage, strength (due to forging and alloy treatment), and extremely high fatigue life.

A Wheelset for Life - We strive to build wheelsets that will outlast your bike.  If you have any questions, please contact sales@scalarwheels.com.
